Buy PrintThis scene was captured 4 miles away on higher ground using a big zoom lens. It's called a cloud inversion where the temperature on lower ground is less than on the higher ground, which creates mist below you.

Bought for my Dad who was a rower at Durham many years ago. Brought back memories of cold afternoons, training on the Wear. Great view of the cathedral and the racecourse where the Miners' Gala banners assembled.
